Will It Last??

We've had a beautiful weekend, though mine was short, way too short due to my working on Friday, very much a rarity for me.  It would sure be a gift if this weather could last through next weekend......

I did get out.....

Thanks to Fred, the Ducati is back in top form.  I really struggled with it a while ago, just couldn't get the TPS set right and according to the expert, I may very well have been chasing my tail.  The important part is that it's running well, maybe better than new.  I've checked and set the valves before, belts too but as long as Fred had it this time.....new fluids, clutch basket, plates, spark plugs.....I guess it should run like new, shouldn't it?  Pull the clutch in and you can barely tell that it's running. :)

This spot on Double N is always a photo stop...

Since the KLR will be accompanying me next weekend at the Wildcat Mountain Rally, it was necessary to make sure it still ran as well.

This beat up old 335th Ave. once had at least somewhat regular patrolling......the Officer in charge must be on vacation this summer.

Up on top, Lake Pepin in the background......

Bike #2 that will be attending the rally over Labor Day....

Summer......please don't leave yet!

  1. Nice photos of the area. I don't remember ever hearing about the Ducati. Have you had it long?

    1. Thanks Richard, the Mississippi River Valley up here is quite scenic and makes for good riding. Ducati hasn't been ridden much the last few years, been having too much fun on the other ones. It was the first bike I owned after my 20 year break from riding, got it almost exactly 11 years ago.

  2. Okay, how many bikes can you ride at one time???? Two to one rally? And I've got my fingers crossed that summer isn't over even if school starts soon.

    1. Karen....the age old question. I leave right after work on Thursday. Four nights, four days....will 2 bikes really be enough?? The quandary now is that I need a bigger trailer.

I'll cross mine too, hopefully we'll have weeks and weeks of satisfactory if not great riding weather.

P.S. Nice to hear you mention school starting :)

  3. We for sure need more summer, but up here I know we won't get it.

The Fall color peak is only 4 short weeks away. I'm sitting on a ton of green tomatoes and it will be a race to see what comes first, frost or red tomatoes.

    1. Erik, I'm jealous of your garden production. We used to be able to grow anything and everything but lately, tomato blight, worn out soil, inattention, etc. Will you try and cover things to buy more time should (when) the need arise?

I enjoyed what you did with the tomatillos.

    1. Deb, you've got the perfect machines for 95% of the riding I do. Just start slow and work your way into it.

      Thanks, we really did!
