National Moto Guzzi Rally - Registration Day

While I was out Byway-ing Wednesday, I received a text from Dave saying that he was coming down a day early.  By the time I left the Fayette public library and got back to Elkader, he and Justin were set up and looking over the early arrivals.

At first we thought we'd walk into town but then Dave decided that I should take a ride in his CSM sidecar rig ( I think he was curious about what my contribution to ballast would be).

Discussing one......or something.

I was all alone Wednesday night but things will be different in 24 hours.  I'm guessing that there were 25 bikes and riders that arrived the day before.

  1. So, you going to pick up one of those CSM sidecars? Pretty nice, eh?

    1. Scott, sorry it didn't work out. I was really hoping that I'd hear from you or see you somewhere along the way.

      2 things....
Someone late Saturday evening said that they thought St. Olaf Tap was closed. I rode by on Thursday, didn't stop but saw a few bikes in front which led me to believe that things were as normal as ever. We should probably check and make sure.

#2...We stopped in Clayton yesterday, it will get a mention in the next Post.

Hope the birthday party was a blast!

    1. Honestly, I could have gone quite a ways just riding. There isn't a lot of room in there but I've been known to spend quite a lot of time, pretzeled up on a sportbike......pretty sure I could adapt to quite a day in there. Our short ride was fun.

  4. You rode in a side car on a BMW at a Motoguzzi rally - not everyone gets to do that you know. How was it being able to put your feet up (so to speak) and relax?

    1. Karen, not everyone fo sure, but Dave was very gracious with rides this weekend. Let's see, Diana, was in there, and then when they got back, Diana drove while Dave rode, Dan was in there, Dan drove while Dave rode, not sure about Jeff...... We took turns following each other today on the way home.

I actually thought the time in the car was fun. I think a wool pad, maybe some beads, etc. would help. There's a seat cushion but it isn't very plush. Our short ride was easy.
