It's so different! Can't remember when I was there last, the family has been more recently than I.
The reflecting pond in front of the Conservatory and the frog facing away? When I was 5 or 6 there were actual sidewalks on both sides/around the pond. We had taken my red trike along and when I saw that frog, I was so excited that after having stepped off the tricycle, it rolled into the drink. Dad had to go find an attendant. I still remember that guy reaching in with a long pole, hook on the end and pulling my clean(er) trike back onto the sidewalk.
It's gratifying to see so many people enjoying the zoo and park in the middle of our Capitol City.....the place definitely impressive!
Ye olde stomping grounds. Didja tear up, or sigh deeply? Or merely shake your head in wonder?
