The IBEX 450 was the machine of choice for my first rally of the season and it served well though that was no surprise. Still new to me, I've barely ridden it this season so learning more about it, the luggage and packing system for the GR3 get together only made sense.
Hadn't been on Blank Hill Road yet this year (really haven't been ANYwhere yet this year). Not only was it still very, very full of sand but I found this....
Luckily the mailman came down behind me just as I was ready to turn tail and run....
Arcadia for a break.....always good to stop in Arcadia.
Lunch in Coon Valley....
Friday's ride down to Soldiers Grove.....I'd driven my normal AM school bus route. A lovely warm, May day.
Saturday morning after the 1" of rain and light show after we'd climbed into our tents after the campfire.
My Saturday ride.....
Saturday evening around Jarrod's campfire....
Had a great time, my first rally of the season and first real trip on any of the bikes. So very good to see all the old friends still sharing the weekend.
Special thanks to Jarrod for sharing his fire and campsite with us.....even that hockey game ;) Also, the following photos all courtesy of Jarrod's dependably remembering to capture the group.
Jarrod's Triumph and rig...
Thanks again Jarrod for getting the shots I never do! Also to the Madison BMW Club for their 51st rally and to the Soldiers Grove Lions for letting us all have so much fun.

So Eye’ll azoom the IBEX is a thumbs up. ? Better than yer Himmy ? 😎
ReplyDeleteMost definitely Thumbs Up. Better at higher speeds which for many (not all) trips I try to avoid. The IBEX definitely not a Himalayan replacement, nothing will be ;)
DeleteLooks like good riding and a fun time....a bit too people an event for me but my COB tendencies....
ReplyDeleteOur area rallies are always easy fun and the folks are easy to get along with, even those cranky BMW types. Always lots of space for spreading out....which we do.
Deletemmmmm. 270° parallel twin sounds like 90° V-twin. That pounding Ducati/Moto Guzzi sound. Me like. Good thing they included nudity as a reason to slow down; kids n' dogs? Who cares?
ReplyDeleteI do find it very pleasant to listen to, an easy bike to like. I've been past that farm numerous times over the last years, never quite remembering which road it's on and it was fun to re-discover.
