Merry Christmas From Frontenac!!

On Tuesday Nick (drove) and Hanna (flew) arrived from Back East to a snowy and relatively mild temp'd Minnesota.  I only worked 2 days this week and since we'd been waiting for the kids to get home, Wednesday was the Great Tree Hunt Day.  Lucky for us we didn't wait a day longer or we'd have been the first customers of Christmas '17.  This is another way of saying not only that the Tree Fields were relatively quiet, the selection of trees was actually quite limited.  The neighborhood dog did come to help us though and was almost as exciting as our tree harvest.

On the way home, lunch at Minnesota's Best Burgers; Kings in Miesville.

Cookies 'processed' all day, the pulled pork over the course of a couple of days and the bacon/brussels freshly done....

So nice outside!!  I was out early and our owl was hooting to celebrate Christmas Eve.

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year from the Cooper's!!

    1. Thank you David! We had the most wonderful surprise Saturday morning; our soldier from TX had driven straight through to be home, an absolutely unexpected surprise. His visit was short but so very appreciated.

Hope your Christmas went well and here's wishing you a very happy New Year!

  7. Looks like you made it to Hampton Hills just in time! That's been our week-after-Thanksgiving tradition ever since our son was born. Glad to see some snow on the ground, there's nothing more festive than laying in the mud! Don't forget to eat too much, stay up too late and take naps (all time honored traditions at our house). Merry Christmas!

    1. Jason, what a coincidence! We've been going over to Randolph now for 6 or 7 years. Thanksgiving weekend was our tradition but then we moved our Tree Hunt to whenever the kids could get home and we almost didn't make it this year.

The young tree seller/shaker/wrapper was all alone. We got there and the tractor wouldn't start so he hustled up to Randolph to buy gas though fuel wasn't the problem. When he started jump starting the tractor and the sparks were flying that eventually turned into some electrical wires leaking smoke, I backed away and the two of us did a Shaky Dance with the tree. By the time we got home, most of the loose foreign matter had blown free.

We always laugh that Little Oscar's is the parking lot of trees on December weekends....we moved our luncheon spot to Miesville.

Hope you had a great Christmas and are in for a Very Happy New Year!
