March 14, 2010

I don't remember how warm it was....my guess would be 50-ish.  There was still snow in the valleys and ditches.  Seeing everyone else's snowy photos reminded me of this ride back in '10 and now it's a bit depressing to see the dates on this batch of photos.

A typical valley township road, only a couple of miles from home.

My favorite yellow signs........

A fun combination of snow and mud, mostly I clung to the snow when I could.

Up on top, out of the valleys.

Horses have been seen on this beach in the past....but none were present that day.

  1. This really is painful to look at. All expectations are useless. It's all wild guesses and luck from now on. I think if we are prepared for extremes we will be...prepared.

  2. You know I do my best at being patient but there are limits......we'll get there.

On the up side, the music's been great all day, working in the shop was fun and some map time w/ride planning has me "out there" without getting cold or wet. Not a great substitute but it's the best I got.

  3. I would love to have a TW to play in the dirt..

Now, I wave my wand and say: Snow be gone! (Did it work? I am new at this...)

  4. The TW is more fun than it really should be.

I'd encourage you to practice your wand waving....I'm hearing this evening that we're to see 50's by next weekend.

  5. 50's, eh. Is that above or below?

What a contrast from last year to this year.

    1. We have been cooler than 'average' but 50 is predicted for the weekend. Mid-30's all week have been a gift, a slow melt is a good melt.

  6. I bet you had fun that day. It seems it from the pictures. Sunshine and snow/mud to play in - yep good times.

We are debating a TW 200 so I can follow hubby around on the forestry roads a little better. Well that or a TX 250.

    1. That trip was my first one out back in '10 and that first trip is always a magical one. If anyone at Yamaha would ask me, I'd make the TW a 300; a boost in power and a 6th gear. It has been fun doing all I've done with 200cc though and I'll continue to enjoy it just as much.

  7. A year ago here Coop we were walking around outside in Tshirts, compared to this year where it has barely made it into the + (let alone +18C)and with wind chill factored in it is still below freezing.

    1. Did you miss the snow that I hope was to your south? Our daughter got hit in Cleveland and I never really heard if it moved far enough north to get you too.

These last couple of days have felt mild, even with a bit of wind. April will have to be more Spring-ish!
