As promised, a perfect way to end February, a celebratory picnic on the frozen Mississippi. It felt and actually was wonderful! I was dressed for it so was not only comfortable but found it very relaxing in some mild February sunshine, right there on (or very close to) the Minnesota/Wisconsin border.
Peg's almost still warm Oatmeal Delights....
Nicely done video! Some studded tires would’ve helped on that icy section but, I take it, they’re not allowed?
ReplyDeleteThank you Richard! Studs aren't legal in Minnesota though I'd use them on the gravel and ice if I did more riding in the winter. Needed to be a bit cautious about getting too far off the tracks out on the lake, some of the drifts were deeper and hard. It wouldn't take too much for more effort than I was willing to put up with. I purposely chose that path to see if I could chug my way up the slope....I could not, had to pick a bare concrete track.
Deleteare cable " chains " available.. ? Can't recall on my rig o=if there's enuf room to install cable wrapped ?
ReplyDeleteThat's often the issue, not enough swing arm clearance. I don't really need more traction, motorcycles are for warm, sunshiny riding on civilized roads.
DeleteLovely outing. The best you can do with such nice weather.
ReplyDeleteSonja, accurate and succinct, thank you!
DeleteNice video Coop! Riding one's rig and then cooking lunch on a frozen lake, very "cool".
ReplyDeleteThanks Dom! You and I both need to be cognizant of where we stop and spend time in these wilderness areas.
DeleteNo Deadfalls!!
