I arrived home from Wyoming this morning about 9am, spent a few hours dozing in an Iowa Rest Stop overnight.
My last view of the Snowy's yesterday.....
A decision was made to leave earlier than planned. Factors were the rain/severe thunderstorms predicted, any roads I planned to yet ride would be huge rocks (slippery) and mud (slippery). After a week of bouncing over and around the rocky roads, I'd finally had enough of that and resigned myself to spending my last day(s) seeking out gravel of which there really isn't that much of.
This was the wet 'gravel' predominant 2 years ago when I was out on the KLR....
I expected it to be mostly the same on the Himalayan.....the Quads and Side-by-Sides laugh at the wet regional conditions. Ol' Coop has to be a bit more prudent on his two wheels.
The other major factor making it easy to head home early was the fact that Ben is home for another few days. We don't get much time together any more and there's MN/WI riding to be done. Not at the elevation that WY has to offer but pretty darned good in its own right, just ask me.
Overall, a fabulous trip. I've got photos, video and better yet, images with memories in my head that will stick with me for a long time. Some amazing people were met and time spent with them precious. There will be a variety of blog posts to follow, many already in the planning stages.
It was wonderful to go.
