A Mostly Quiet Week

Not much riding, though I did get out an evening or two for a short loop.  Coffee Saturday morning, a stop at GoMoto to pick up a starter relay from Marty for the sidecar rig.  Two new sparkplugs for the 'new' Honda, hotter ones (for the way I ride it) as well.

The old plugs from the Honda and the old starter relay from the Royal  Enfield.

The Guzzi Breva hasn't been idling well so I decided that the throttle bodies needed to be balanced.

We had more rain, 5 plus inches of it and once more it came on our valley's soil that was already soaked.

This was in between the 5 inches and we've driven through this too often this summer.

Coming home from Minneapolis on Saturday afternoon, the water was deeper and flowing faster.  I hit it harder than I may have had to but wanted to get to the other side with a bit of momentum.  Doing that was kind of hard on our spare tire 'system'.

I'm still trying to figure out how to fix this one.

Peg and I had tickets for a show at our local performing arts center.  We saw the Manual Cinema Mementos Mori and it was astounding....we've and I guess most would never have ever seen anything like them before.  An ensemble out of Chicago, if you get a chance to see them, you'll be amazed.

Today I had the Enfield out for a short ride, the starter now seems to be working fine again.  With that home, I took the KLR out for a bigger loop in Wisconsin, no photos though.

  1. Am sure the damage to the spare tire carrier will "buff out"...or perhaps judicious application of a BFH.

    1. Don, I gotta tell ya, BFH is the only thing I considered upon first discovery...and if that would work....

  2. I can't believe how much rain you've had. And here we sit in Oregon at 70 degrees today. Although the rains are supposed to return tomorrow, it is a welcome difference from the record breaking 14.5 inches we saw last October. Let's hope you don't break any rain records.

    1. Brandy, I can't believe it either. I grew up with "a tenth or few, possibly a half inch". An inch of gentle rain was "a good one". Now we get a month's worth 3 times a month.

  3. Really enjoyed The Forger. Thanks for posting the link. Documentaries always appeal to me. Drives my wife crazy sometimes.

    1. Scott, that happens around here too. The group puts on an amazing live show. I'd encourage everyone to give them a look.

  4. My V11 loved getting the throttle bodies set and the FI tuned. No fancy self learning computers on that bad boy, you had to set the TPS and a handful of other things that I'm quickly forgetting.
Looks like fruitful time spent in the garage.

    1. Jason, it honestly didn't take very long but while we're still "in season", that time seems like time I should really be out twisting a grip somewhere.
