Busy during the day yesterday, we didn't get out until late afternoon. Since Sunday had been a Paved Road day, we thought we'd explore some gravel and to make things simpler, we left the wooden scooter at home.
Ben is enjoying his KLR 250 down in Texas so the transition here to my KLR 650 was an easy one. I grabbed the Ascot (TranZalp).
We found a couple of new Minimum Maintenance roads and and ran an old familiar one. There were areas with very obvious tree damage after the storms that passed through a couple of weeks ago. Stripped branches, farm building damage, roofs covered in plastic tarps on too many farms.
"I think we better turn around here.....I know of another one....."
It never ceases to amaze me how lush and green your backyard is during summertime. Reminds me of the Alberta prairies.
ReplyDeleteSonja, August is really the only month that things get very brown around here and then it's not usually too bad. September starts bringing cooler weather and rain, so things really get bright again as the other autumn colors go bold in that direction.
DeleteLooks like it is still quite soft in some areas after the storms you've had.
ReplyDeleteThe shadows made those tracks look wetter than they were. We had a quick shower this afternoon, 5mm according to our cascading rain gauge. Looks like tomorrow will be a shop/inside day.
