Miles.
I was out after work again......I'll bet only the 3rd and possibly the 4th time I've done a weekday ride all season. Another "it was too nice not to" justification. This was Tuesday.
The KLR only because it was right in front and more minutes wasted moving, air pressure checks (certain adjustments), etc. only would have wasted the quickly falling temperatures and precious daylight.
Saturday morning I had to 'open' Diamond's all by my lonesome......Mike and I normally wait for and watch the door unlocking process but he abandoned me this week for a trip to Omaha.
My brother was there with his brandy new '17 HD, Stage 3 kit already making the required extra brake horsepower.
I didn't stay long; we're still busy getting mom's house emptied and organized. October afternoons STILL allow time for riding however, so that's what I did.
Not sure the last time that I stopped here but it was many years ago. A Public Boat Landing on the Zumbro River, these old bridge abutments once upon a time carried very busy Highway 61 traffic south from central Minnesota.
Much if not the vast majority of computing power in the Coop household will soon be dedicated to tabulating this season's Pie Chart.
Stay tuned.......as already mentioned, "I'm not done yet."
'might even be some more additions today.
That looks like an old Mercedes in front of Diamond's (complete with fins!). Another something from your garage?
ReplyDeleteI used to always take the scenic route home from work. Not anymore...
Richard, I drive old but nothing that classic. I park across the street when I drive to save room for the 2 wheeled machines.
DeleteI hope to experience that "not anymore...." someday.
Didn't notice the old Benz before RichardM pointed it out....I used to have a "thing" for old Benz cars.
ReplyDeleteDom, that old Benz belongs to Dan that has an accordion repair shop upstairs....lots of artistic folks in that building. I don't know where he finds them; this isn't his first.
DeleteGood on ya for getting out after work. I am usually making dinner and cleaning up and it is dark by the time that is done. No riding time left.
ReplyDeleteToo close to my excuse. After a long day away, the long commute and short daylight except in June, an hour here or an hour there just hasn't been that appealing.
DeleteI should get over that though and will try harder next summer. Good chance I won't always have the luxury of 3 day weekends to get out and go.
My, you really lucked out stretching the season. If it weren't for the bare trees it could still be summer...
ReplyDeleteSonja, it's such a nice time to be out. A couple of layers, my Warm Bib and slower, shorter trips make it easier if not simple.
