Up ahead of where I stopped for the photo, just along the road was the tiniest patch of snow. In fact you can see it off to the left side where the curve starts uphill again. Using great restraint, I avoided leaving my tracks through it.
Our gravel roads have gone from frozen, to frost out which means mud and now compacted hard-pack. The road graders will be out soon, smoothing the surface which means a certain amount of gravel will surface again. Late summer they apply a new top coat so that it gets 'settled' before winter plowing would scrape it off again.
Looks like the perfect (excuse) day to me.

ReplyDeleteIt seems to be a timing thing.....I selfishly once out want to keep going and night gets in the way. Hopefully I'll get over it and adjust.
