There are so many ways to look at it and yes, we're pretty much all in agreement. This year's version has seemed (and been) long. Last year our local cold season was milder and shorter but then........in early April we had a big snow that left traces, traces that weren't present in our yard on the 7th of April this year.
This year we have mud, mud that is drying fast. With our recent moisture, green will happen quickly.
Last year on April 7......
I think you are correct, if your mud is drying up green can't be too far behind.
ReplyDeleteSome light showers predicted, once the green starts nothing will stop it.
DeleteI'm seeing green grass sprouting and the birds are singing this morning down in Ohio!
ReplyDeleteHope you get the same soon!
Cleveland was definitely ahead of us. We heard and saw birds there that must still be sleeping in MN.

ReplyDeleteIt won't be long now . . . I can feel it coming . . .

There's definitely a feeling and we're all getting it......finally.
DeleteCoop, your winter felt long to me... and I wasn't even there.
ReplyDeleteSonja, I didn't mean to complain.....only share.
DeleteWell, there may have been a complaining sentence here and there. :)
I like your picture of the plow truck's rear tire on the still frozen ice. It looks a lot more "Spring-like" than some other pictures. Lawn mowing weather isn't too far behind.
ReplyDeleteThis morning I was thinking (dreading) that very thought. Before long it will be 1.7 mowing's per week until things taper off later in the season. Thick and tough is how it excitedly starts to grow.
DeleteCoop springs coming for your neck of the woods. It was a long winter, ours may not have had snow, but it was long, wet, foggy, and grey. Time to get your bikes running. :)
ReplyDeleteDar, I was out yesterday after work. 1.3 miles out the driveway and down to the corner. It wasn't grand but felt pretty good to me. Let it be known the TW200's season has begun!
DeleteQuick Coop - move that truck so the sun can melt that ice too!
ReplyDeleteWe were doing so well and then last night (can barely say it) the ground was white with another .5 inch.
