Bob, Compromises had to be made....the poor little Yamaha worked her wheels off this weekend, 843 miles and way too much of it wide open. It's been cool and I knew I'd be along the Lake, so extra clothes were taken and cold food planned for.
I did the right thing. The only thing I'd have done with the stove was coffee water and visiting a couple of coffee shops was more fun than I thought it would be.
Martha, You are right to be suspicious. I detest buying store apples but these weren't the Delicious cardboard variety...they actually were pretty good. I'm a McIntosh man; my absolute favorite and as such, I'm a seasonal apple-eater.
I put the little sticker on my water bottle but it's gone, sorry, just don't remember the variety.
Trobairitz, I think I've mentioned before that I go with different phases of camping... 1) Rally tent sleeping....food and drink mostly provided, no cooking. 2) Eating cold(er) food, possibly hot coffee and oatmeal. 3) Cooking everything. My favorite but done the least number of times each year.
